in the company of...

if you know anything about icelanders, then you know they are some of the toughest strong willed people around. and today i am glad that my baby is icelandic. because he is doing some amazing things. he is not on any oxygen and is on the lowest dose of C PAP (you can correct me vanessa) which is what helps him breathe. his coloring is rockin and the nurses are so pleased with him already. he can also eat 1 ML of breast milk. the only negative thing is that i have only been able to see him for like 3 minutes last night. i am still on the magnesium sulfate and not able to get out of bed. BOO. so in about 1.5 hours i will be off the mag and be able to spend some time with him. mca has been able to be with him today and we have called often to check on him.

anthon has also had some visitors today: uncle boas, nana and papa (brought hen from st. george), and great aunt lynne. big brother henry won't be able to see him in the level 1 part due to RSV season and other concerns we have. henry did see pics of him and was a little worried about baby being hurt. mca was amazing at explaining all the tubes and IVs to him. hen kept saying "can we go see anson (how hen says it), i want to see her" then mca had to tell him that he is a boy a few times. so cute.

as for me, i am doing pretty good. blood pressure is back to normal. but of course i am in some pain from the surgery and all the hormonal stuff that comes with having a baby. i haven't slept much in the last week and those of you that know me well would know that this is a very negative thing. i love my sleep.

we love you guys and are thankful for the support.

Glad to see all is well! I have been keeping up everyday until yesterday. I had a car accident (not major injuries) and so I didn't check until today. I was surprised to see pictures of little Anthon! I have seen babies that size and smaller turn out smart as a whip so he will be fine I am sure. Glad things are going well! He seems to be quite the trooper! Hope he gets to go home soon.

Hey, I just wanted to tell you guys about a sweet family we know. I have been friends with this girl and her hubby for a little over 8 years. Anyways, about 7 yrs ago she found out she was pregnant, she delivered her little guy at 25 weeks!!!! I emailed her and asked her to remind me how far along she was and told her a little about what was going on with you guys...this was her response..

"I know what your cousin is going through. I totally remember just wanting to hear someone who has made it, that was healthy, happy, and FINE! Mikey was born at 25 weeks, 1 lb 3oz. They use to tell me all the time when I was in the hospital prego, "if you can get to 28 weeks and 2lbs we will almost be home free". So 2lbs is a "good" start for the little one. If they are in Utah Mikey and I would love to go visit them. I remember a girl brought in her "baby" that was born at 29 weeks to visit us. He was 5 then, and healthy. But 29 weeks seemed so OLD to us. So it might be nice for them to see a little one that was younger and smaller doing just great. Mikey has not one problem! He is smart, happy, crazy, funny, and has more muscles than any 7 year old, ever!
They can email me or call me if they wanna talk! Tell them to hang in there. It is so hard and so scary, but those little babies fight to be here. I am sure they will witness many miracles along the way. Let me know if I can offer them any kind of support!
Call me anytime!!"

Anyways, I can honestly say their little Mikey is such an amazing little guy. He is sooo strong..I'll send you a pic of this kids muscles :) and very smart. He has excelled in everything and shocked all the doctors and nurses around. I know what a fighter you've got you guys and you can tell in all the posts and updates on his progress. LOVE IT!

IF you want to even hear from my friend or meet her and her son, let me know. I also have her number. LOVE you guys!
