lately

so i have had a bit of a run in with ambien lately. which means i am not taking it anymore. oh but i wish i could. especially right now. at 1:35 AM. and i am thinking of my sweet mother. who ALWAYS gives me the best advice. (even though at the time of the advice giving i just want her to say - take the ambien, it will be fine). she said to me. you are going to sleep TERRIBLE for a few days. maybe even a week. and if anyone knows me, you know this just can't happen for so many reasons. she also says, have mca hide the ambien, because you will be tempted to take it. and right now at 1:38 she is so right. but i am holding strong. she also said, don't get on the computer or watch tv. and i am not listening to that right now. sorry mom. i couldn't resist. so what this lesson boils down to is two thing: 1- ambien is a fabulous fabulous thing, if you can just sleep and not have crazy things happen, which is not in my case, so i cannot partake of the fabulous fabulousness of it and 2- my mom is so smart. and gives the best advice. and i have been thinking about her the last two nights remembering her words of wisdom. even though i want to sleep. so bad. and to end, in the words of the funniest man alive, jim gaffigan, "i wonder what my bed is doing right now."

first santa experience = success

hen and i went to the mall for a little xmas shopping. we walk by the santa and the line was totally empty, so i thought, what the heck lets try this. i go to pay for some pics and i say, what happens if he throws a fit, i don't want to pay for pics if he is scared. so they let me try it first. i stroller hen up to the picture taking area, totally worried he is going to start screaming. he sees santa and yells "tanta". I get him out of his coat, barely out of the stroller and he jumps out and runs up to the cute little santa in the chair. he stops. looks around. i put him on santa's lap and he was just in awe. it was the cutest thing ever. then they started taking the pictures and the light from the flash was like the coolest thing to hen. "ight, ight" he kept screaming. so this is one of the pictures we got. but there were some really cute ones of his fun expressions. so needless to say, our first santa experience was a success. so glad i have such a totally cool and laid back baby. the santa experience seems more traumatic for mom then the child - please don't freak, please don't freak. it was a fun mommy moment for me. i can't wait for hen to see mickey!!!

love love love

a little backup story to the blog story: i used to work at a tanning salon. we always got to try the new tanning products that would come in. for those of you who don't know, there is this fabulous tanning lotion that you put on and it starts to tingle your body (or burn) when it gets hot. i was the only one who liked these products and i got to try them all. it was pure bliss. i would slather on some lotion, get in the bed, and have a 15 minute tingly/burn party on my body. it was awesome.

come back to present day... i recently purchased a pore minimizer from clinique. this amazing thermal-active face wash gives your skin a tingly/burn sensation when you gently rub it on your face. i used it today and was instantly brought back to my days under the lamp. this stuff is so cool. if you don't have super sensitive skin and you want to feel like your pores are being kicked around like the mucinex mascot, then you have to try it.

also, while i am on fabulous products, i must give a shout out to my new conditioner. it is by pureology and it is in the super smooth system. it makes my hair feel like velvet. i'm so in love.
