sort of outdoorsy...

the shaws are all trekking up to the old ranch in Wyoming in july. so our little family has decided this would be a perfect opportunity to get some camping in. i am not a camper. i love the idea of camping. but i kind of hate doing it. its kind of boring. anyway, i definitely needed to test drive my camping skills before our 5 night camp out. so we set up our tent in the backyard, had us a bbq, and cooked some "shmoes". yes, i did stay out until sun up. and received much needed praise and admiration from the hubs. here are some pics:

our 7 man tent just doesn't seem big enough with all the "furniture" inside - i didn't get a pic of my new blow up couch...

yes, i bbq'd some hot dogs,

and everyone loved them,

especially "tan".

we are having some serious issues with jumping on the bed, blow ups included.

mca cooking up some shmoes - in the background henry is eating all the chocolate i had nicely set out.

our brave little guy

henry was not able to be circumcised when he was born, so this is what we got to do yesterday. we went to the new hospital in riverton with a primary children's unit. shout out to dr. snow - although i am pretty sure he doesn't read this - who did the surg. such a sweet guy. henry was quite the brave little boy and had lots of new experiences at the hospital.

henry got his vitals taken,

got a new pair of jammies,

took a wagon ride,

and got to play with some cool new toys.

henry also kicked it with the nurses (this is him yelling something at them),

and got some sweet medicine to help his little nerves.

this is hen and mommy post op. it took him quite a while to wake up and drink some sprite so we could go home.

36 hours later and hen is doing great. he only cries while his diaper is changed. we have watched tons of movies, made some forts, and had lots of "popcoles". he is already like his sweet, mischievous self.

henry's room

so since we have lived in our house for almost 9 months, we decided that we would get some projects done. one thing we are doing is decorating henry's room. i found these awesome license plate tin art wall things at target, so i decided on a car theme for his room. this post is dedicated to the street sign we made. here are the before and after:

i found this sign in the garbage at my office building

we spray painted it krylon antique white.

we then made stencils from painters tape for the lettering. i printed the letters from a free font online. stuck those babies right to the painted sign and...

here is the final product. mca had the brilliant idea of turning a green (yard sale find) curtain rod into the pole for the sign. just one coat of krylon metallic silver did the trick.

can't wait to unveil the whole room when it is finished!!!

what do you think?

so here is baby anderson #2. i have been having people vote on the sex. i even had a guy at rc willey in on it. so...what's your vote? boy OR girl...

reFAB

we have been yard saleing a TON this season. and have found some great things to refurbish or reFAB as i call it. here are some items we have purchased as of late.

cast iron chimenea for $33. amazing price. fun for burning excess weeds, fire wood, and cooking hot dogs and smores.

above our stair case before our find

bamboo mirror $7 (ps that is the only item on the walls in the entire house. i know, we have lived here for 9 months. i've got a professional decorator on it though. hope she approves of this mirror.)

$100 ikea table for $10. it was nice as is, but we needed a different color, so...

we are in the process of painting it antique white.

more reFABulousness to come.

sunscreen and dog food.

one would think by looking at this picture

and this picture, that our day in the sun was fun and relaxing.

however someone managed to get his swimsuit and swim diaper off,

hijack the sunscreen and make sure the ball was properly protected by the rays, whilst trying out the flavor,

pose ever so beautifully for the camera,

and eat dog food. (can't see the dog food, and the white stuff is sunscreen, but don't worry he was chomping on "tan's" food during this picture.

news

most of you already know, but i thought i would share that we are going to have another little anderson in december. i am 10 weeks along and feeling fairly sick and of course tired. but i can't complain, many women would kill to be in my situation. so i am thankful for the sickness in a weird way. i'm also totally poking out already!! ugh. but haven't gained any weight so we are doing good so far. i'm pretty sure it is going to be a girl. don't know why, just have that feeling. nana would be thrilled, however if i had a 'gun-to-my-head' choice, i would pick a boy. for lots of reasons. but i will be happy all the same. i am just so grateful that i get to have this opportunity again. it is such an amazing process and growing experience for everyone. anyway, we are really excited and can't wait for christmas time. updates to come.
