march 2011

march apparently was a slow month for picture taking. i imagine it was because i was busy doing this most of the month:

this was my amazefest, however failed, attempt at trying out for the biggest loser. first, i went to an open casting call with one of my best friends - ali and her hubs scottie. we then proceeded to make some videos to turn into the casting directors. those of you watching this season of the biggest loser are not my friend until the season is over. i would imagine if you were a true friend you would be boycotting it, as i am, because i was not chosen for the show. anyway, these pics are of us after the casting call at mimi's cafe. eating. whatever the hell we wanted. at it was good. cheers.

scottie and ali. cutest couple ever.

ali and alli. oh wait this is the cutest couple ever. just ask the picture taking attendant on the carnival cruise ship that took our picture on dress up night where we looked like a fabulous lesbian couple. that picture (thank god and jesus) will never show it's face on this earth because the smart person that i am destroyed it before it could be purchased. only a joke that two people would get, that probably don't even read this blog, but for my memory's sake i will leave that story in.

next: april 2011.

wednesday's obsession

i would really like to make a goal of posting every wednesday about an obsession i am having. because as mentioned before, i have a lot of obsessions and i would also like to get into the habit of posting regularly anyway.

so lately my obsession has been: sookie stackhouse.

sookie is a character in the charlane harris novels that have become what we know as the HOT HBO series "true blood". i am already on book 4 and loving the simplicity of the reading (as i read a LOT of other self help books that get more in depth to my psyche). i have also watched the series, up to season 3, and i am enjoying the comparison from book to tv. SO... if you need some vampire time, pick up one of these books. or watch the series. whatevs. you will become obessed too...

and just to wet your appetite, here is a sneak peak into what HBO imagined vampire eric to be. i couldn't agree more. yumfest.

february 2011

febrary was quite eventful for the anderson family. henry started honing in on his cooking skills. and we also hosted 3+ parties at our house. bunco (theme: celebrating winter as goddess from the north - viking style), the super bowl (no pics), and the oscars.

chef henry made quite the supper for himself one night that included: 1 hot dog, a handful of doritos, 1 cheese stick, and for desert a package of fruit snacks...

he got real serious about this meal.

another night, he insisted on eating dinner outside. this was more of a simple meal that consisted of one ingredient...

snow.

viking goddesses celebrated winter by playing bunco...

and the life size popcorn machine came in handy for our popcorn themed oscar party.

toppings galore included butter, hot sauce, several flavored salts, chocolate covered EVERYTHING, sugar, spices, and the list goes on.

needless to say, february was quite entertaining for us this year. we love all our friends that often travel out to the "sticks" to celebrate any and every event we can get our hands on. i think hen is catching the entertaining bug, and may just be in on the recipe ideas for our next party. here's to another eventful february-fest 2012!!

henry's 3rd birthday. (january 2011)

k. i know this is getting redic. but i am going to make it through this year before next year starts. this is a goal. and i am getting good at goals. ok. here is hen's 3rd birthday. we went to jumping jacks. any child's dream place. any parent's nightmare. in any case, he loved it. lots of jumping on blow up jumpy things, cake, presents, family and friends, sweat, and most of all pictures. i will try to only put in a few.

the party kicked off getting a picture of hen in his 3rd birthday outfit. this is practically the one and only picture that hen is not completely drenched in sweat.

we had pizza and cake (as you can tell, there was no room for pizza in this gorgeous picture of costco sheet cake)...

and opened a million presents.

hen jumped...

and slid down bouncy things all night.

he played with many friends and cousins...

and possibly got a little inappropriate with his favorite pal jeremiah.

...and then he got tired. and the night sadly ended.
