best day ever

so anthon and i had quite the day today...

i got to hold him for 45 minutes. he kept his temperature the whole time, so i am pretty sure he loved it as much as i did.


we had a photo shoot of anthon's hands and feet against my hand to show how teeny he is...

he got his CPAP (fighter pilot helmet) off today. he only needs a nasal cannula now!!! we finally got to see his little head and lips. SUCH a joy.

and big brother henry came to visit again. he was much more intrigued with anthon today wanting to stare into the isolette and talk to him.

i definitely walked out of the NICU a very happy and proud mommy today. in other news regarding anthon - if you are into the whole medical aspect (i know you are e. nice)... anthon had a full round of endocine (medicine to help close the PDA in his heart). the PDA is still there, but smaller. so they are going to have him do another round of the endocine to see if they can close it or make it smaller. at this point they are not concerned about the size and do not think it will need to be surgically closed. they are going to do another head ultrasound to check on the brain bleed. the last test showed a non-gradeable bleed, so they are just double checking. our little guy is doing well so far. he is 12 days old today and would be 29 weeks. everyday is going to be new news, so i am trying to prepare for that. but i am taking it one day at at time. and with a day like today, i can hopefully get through anything.

thanks to the guilbert's, christine, and jorden for the amazing food this week. so nice to come home and have something waiting for us to eat.
