the rest of may 2011

i only have like 56 days left to finish this year in pictures. may is always quite intense around the anderson home because it is pretty much my birth month. we have mother's day and my birthday to celebrate. this year we also had my graduation and lots of visitors. we also had some unfortunate events that led us to the emergency room. read on to find out more:

mca and henry got me a graduation gift...
a new camera!!!
spring always brings out the amazingness of our back yard -  especially the cherry blossom tree.
the tree is one of henry's favorite places to hang out.
alisha, paige, me, nana - mother's day. jerett, alisha and their kiddos came up to celebrate my graduation along with nana and papa. this weekend was also mother's day. jer and lish announced they were expecting a new little one for a wonderful mother's day surprise.
nana and aunt myrna. nana and i helped my aunt myrna out with a garage sale.  nana and i rock the pants of all things garage sales - not to mention mca and i LOVE frequenting them in the spring/summer months.
to the left was my table of treasures. i made some good money at this sale.
my birthday was pretty awesome, until we had to take hen to the ER. mca and i went on a love-capade before my ACTUAL birthday and ran all over the wasatch front looking for an ipad 2. we finally found one at the apple store. that is what i got for my birthday. the next day, poor hen was bit by our sweet (never bitten a person in her life) dog and the next day the bite turned into an almost abscess. thus, the rushing to the ER. we thought he was going to need surgery, but thank jesus he didn't. anyway, here you see my gorgeous birthday gift. along with my poor sweet child with a bandaid on his face and a super homemade casty thing to keep him from pulling the IV out of his arm. he had to keep going back to the doctor to get more antibiotics. so they just left it in, in order not to continue to poke him.
later in may, henry decided that he was going to cook again. see this post and this post for previous cooking attempts. anyway, this was his amazefest chef-ware. he had this bib velcroed around his waist as an "apron" - however it looked more like a sumo wrestling outfit. and stirring his food would not be complete without the gigantic hot pad glove.

as you can see his concoction was quite the meal. grapes, oranges, some tortilla, and some breadstick crackers. quite healthy if you ask me. however, i was not exactly thrilled that this was happening in my den and not my kitchen. but whatever, it was a fun memory.
